Natural and Cultural sites the South Karelia Museum, the Lappeenranta Art Museum and the Saimaa Geopark visitor centre in the Lappeenranta Fortress
The Fortress of Lappeenranta is a historical attraction and it offers wide range of services. Construction began in the 1720’s by the Swedish. The Fortress is built on the First Salpausselkä. The South Karelia Museum and the Lappeenranta Art Museum are located in the Fortress of Lappeenranta.

At the northern end of the Fortress, Satamatie 8, you will find the Saimaarium Nature and Science Centre, which has the Saimaa Geopark visitor centre in its entrance. You can find more information about Saimaarium here
